Chapter 1089: Don’t Be Too Ambitious

Chapter 1089: Don’t Be Too Ambitious

Stella Charlie entered the palace smoothly with the invitation in hand.Soon, amid the bustling hall, she locked onto the direction where Vincent Warner stood.

The smile on her face instantly dimmed.

Clinging to Vincent’s arm was none other than Chloe Swift, who had visited her not long ago.

Seeing the two attending together, one could only think of the words "well-matched".

Chloe, with her arm hooked through Vincent’s, was engaging in lively conversation with a few elders across from them.

Vincent’s face was sullen as he sent a message to his mother: "I’m here now, get rid of the hotel staff."

"Alright, as long as you listen to me, I won’t trouble her. I’ve said, even if you marry Chloe, you can still keep that girl by your side. I won’t interfere with you being with her, but don’t make things difficult for me either."

Seeing these words, Vincent irritably put away his phone.

Chloe glanced in the direction of Stella, and when their eyes met, Chloe’s lips curled into a mocking smile.

Vincent seemed to feel Stella’s gaze too and turned his head unexpectedly in her direction.

But Stella had already turned around and silently hid to the side.

She also realized that the person who invited her here was probably not Vincent, but Chloe.

"Ding-dong—"

Vincent looked down at his phone, at the message sent by Stella: "When are you coming back?"

He replied: "Still have some things to deal with, it’ll be later."

Stella: "Where are you?"

Vincent: "Not far from the hotel, I’ll come back as soon as I’m done."

Stella didn’t reply again, standing in a corner, watching Vincent and Chloe from afar.

She suddenly felt like a clown appearing there.

Chloe suddenly stepped away from Vincent’s side, while Vincent, with a sullen face, went upstairs. Chloe headed straight for a stone pillar in the hall, looking at Stella with a proud posture and asked with a smile, "Do the clothes still fit?"

"...Did you call me here just to see this?"

Chloe reached out to straighten the strap on Stella’s shoulder, like a caring older sister, and said, "I just wanted you to see reality sooner. He’s not on the same path as you."

"He sees you as young and beautiful now, willing to keep you by his side, willing to spend money on you. But there will always be girls younger and prettier than you. What would make him choose you then?"

"I’m not trying to harm you; just move away from him, and the benefits you get from me won’t be less than what he gives you. Be sensible, don’t be too ambitious, or you might end up losing everything."

"Miss Swift, the Countess wants to speak with you, this way please."

Chloe nodded with a smile and said to Stella before leaving, "You don’t have much time left, think it through and come find me soon."

The garden behind the hall was desolate, with no one around. Stella sat on a bench by the fountain, eyes red and expression wooden,

when Vincent’s special ringtone sounded on her phone.

She looked down at the caller’s flashing avatar, tears dripping onto the phone screen.

She didn’t hang up, nor did she dare to answer.

On the second-floor balcony, Vincent frowned at the call that was automatically disconnected.

Worried that something might have happened to Stella at the hotel, he was about to leave when he suddenly saw the girl in a black dress by the fountain downstairs...

Narrowing his eyes to see the girl’s profile clearly, Vincent felt a slight tremor in his heart, but his feet moved quickly towards downstairs without hesitation.
