Chapter 1088: Arkengale Palace
"I have another gift for you." Stella Charlie ran to the living room and took out a gift box with a fountain pen from her bag.Vincent Warner looked at her with a smile, happiness radiating from his heart to his face.
Feeling a bit anxious, Stella handed the gift box to him.
Vincent reached out and took the box. Without any curiosity about its contents, he pulled Stella into his arms: "Thank you."
"...Quick, see if you like it."
"I like it." Vincent replied first and then began to open the box.
After he took out the fountain pen from the box, Stella shyly smiled and said, "I noticed you have a habit of using fountain pens, so I chose one to give to you. I hope when you use this pen, you can...think of me."
Vincent laughed: "Even when I’m not using the pen, I think of you."
Hearing such sweet words, Stella still felt a bit shy. She buried her head and pulled out a chair by the dining table to change the topic: "Let’s eat quickly, the food is getting cold."
"I thought you didn’t know today was my birthday, and I didn’t know you had prepared so much for me. I’m sorry I came back late, making you wait."
Stella shook her head with a smile: "Your family must also be celebrating your birthday, right? I was actually planning to celebrate with you when you got back in the evening."
Vincent opened his mouth but didn’t mention his troubling family situation to Stella, not wanting to upset her.
So he changed what he was going to say: "Let’s eat."
"Do you have any plans for this weekend?"
Stella shook her head, biting her chopsticks as she looked at Vincent.
Vincent: "Then I’ll take you to get your passport tomorrow. Accompany me abroad, okay? I have some business to handle on Saturday, but we can have the entire Sunday to hang out."
Stella agreed happily: "Okay."
For her, this wasn’t just a trip abroad but a step closer to Vincent’s life.
Boarding time was nine o’clock Friday evening. In the dimly lit cabin, Stella leaned on Vincent’s shoulder.
Towards the unfamiliar destination, she didn’t feel uneasy.
"Stella, we’re here."
Stella turned to look out the window. It was a little past seven in the morning, and the sun wasn’t up yet.
"Once we get back to the hotel, have a good nap. I’ll finish my work as soon as possible and return to the hotel to find you."
"Okay, you take care of your work, don’t worry about me."
Since she couldn’t help him much, Stella tried not to cause him any trouble.
Stella caught up on her sleep throughout the morning and obediently stayed in the hotel room, waiting for Vincent to come back.
She held back from contacting Vincent, waiting for him to reach out once he was done with his work.
When she started feeling hungry around five in the afternoon, she heard a knock on the door.
Outside was a girl’s voice, speaking fluent English: "Hello, sorry to bother you. I’m a staff member from the hotel."
Stella opened the door and looked outside through the safety chain, replying in English: "Is there something you need?"
The girl smiled and handed over a light pink paper bag: "Are you Miss Stella Charlie? Someone asked me to give this to you."
Stella was startled for a moment, thinking that Vincent was the only person she knew here. It must be something sent by him?
She reached out through the door crack and took the paper bag: "Thank you."
After closing the door, she opened the paper bag and looked inside. There was a black dress and a note along with an invitation: Put on the dress and come to Arkengale Palace, I’m waiting for you there.
Stella hurriedly changed into the dress, grabbed the invitation, and went out the door.
