Chapter 307: THE LUCKY STAR
Chapter 307: THE LUCKY STAR
"AND THAT’s how I ended up here~"Haaah.
Wonhee wanted to smack the annoying smirk off Hwang Yejun’s face.
How could he tell the story of his death so casually?
"So, you died?" Wonhee asked, frowning. She had to cross her arms over her chest to stop herself from smacking Hwang Yejun’s face. Violence wasn’t the answer at the moment. "You died without making sure that your sacrifice didn’t go to vain?"
"I already did my part," Hwang Yejun said, shrugging without a care in the world. "What happens in that world after I left is none of my business."
"Hwang Yejun."
"Your friend and Hamin are there to deal with the rest."
Aigoo.
To be honest, Wonhee wanted to scold Hwang Yejun.
But she knew it was already too late for that.
He’s already here anyway.
"So, do you know how we’re supposed to turn back time?" Wonhee asked. To be honest, she already had an idea about that. However, she wanted to hear it straight from Hwang Yejun. After all, the System wouldn’t have sent him there if the plan wasn’t complete yet. "You didn’t come empty-handed, did you?"
"Of course, I didn’t," Hwang Yejun said, and then he opened his arms. "Come here."
"No."
"Come on."
"Why would I let you hug me when you haven’t explained anything to me yet?"
"Well, I’m asking for a hug because I’m about to tell you the plan," Hwang Yejun explained. But he probably noticed the dirty look that Wonhee gave for his vague explanation. Hence, he added: "You’ll cry once you hear the plan. So, let me hug you first. I want you to cry in my arms."
"You’re freaking annoying. Do you know that?"
"So I have been told."
"Spill it before I smack you."
"Aigoo. Since when have you become violent, Wonhee-ya?"
"Since you pissed me off."
Hwang Yejun laughed out loud, and then he got serious all of a sudden. "You must already know that your parents, and the ones who took care of you after them, all agreed to sacrifice their lives. In order for you to have the power to turn back time, you have to be the luckiest girl in the world."
"It’s ironic, isn’t it?" Wonhee asked, smiling bitterly. "I’m supposed to be reborn as the luckiest girl in the world. And, yet, in the next timeline, I have to lose my parents twice."
"Not to invalidate your feelings, but you’ll still have it easier than the others, Wonhee-ya. As a part of the wealthiest families in the world, the apocalypse wouldn’t affect your lifestyle that much."
"I know that— I’m just saying that it’s ironic."
Hwang Yejun fell silent for a moment, and then he finally spoke. "Your siblings also decided to die early."
Wonhee closed her eyes tightly.
She knew that her older siblings would choose that path, but it still pained her that they ended up dead to support her.
"Soobin Hyung and Semi Noona decided to die early," Hwang Yejun continued with their explanation. "They did that so that the amount of Mana left in their Core would be significant. After all, our goal is to fill the world with enough Mana to fend off monsters and dungeons."
Yes, that was the plan.
Wonhee’s heart and Core were supposed to be enough for that plan.
But Lee Seodam ruined everything.
"Bitna and Hamin will take care of the rest as I said earlier," Hwang Yejun said. "We’ve already done our part in that world, Wonhee-ya. Now we have to focus on the next thing that we have to do here."
Ah, Hwang Yejun was right.
Wonhee couldn’t do anything about the choices that her precious family members had chosen.
She felt sorry for them, but she also felt proud because of their selflessness.
I was raised by good people.
Now it was her turn to make sure that her family’s sacrifice wouldn’t go in vain.
"Yejun-ah, did the System tell you what will happen while we are waiting for the right time in this world?" Wonhee asked, opening her eyes. She then looked at Hwang Yejun’s (annoyingly handsome) face. "We will lose our memories the more we stay here at this planet called the ’Lucky Star.’"
"Yeah, the System already explained everything to me."
"And, yet, you look calm?"
"Well, it’s natural for us to lose our memories," Hwang Yejun said casually while shrugging. This man was really carefree. "After all, we’re going to be reborn and become literal babies."
Right.
That was their future.
"I wasn’t able to rest properly after hearing that we’ll be reborn as babies," Wonhee complained lightly. "Why are you so cool with that part, huh?"
"The earlier we meet, the longer I can love you," Hwang Yejun said, smiling. And then his smile turned into a hearty laugh when Wonhee’s face turned red. "Wonhee-ya, you know that I’m in love with you, aren’t you?"
Aigoo.

Present...
OKAY, even Wonhee blushed when she saw that moment between the old Wonhee and the old Yejun.
When she turned to Yejun, she kinda got annoyed when she saw his poker face.
"Yejun-ah?"
"Yeah?"
"Did you see that last part?"
Yes, Wonhee and Yejun were watching the same "scene" play on their Status Windows.
She didn’t know when it started.
But when Wonhee and Yejun’s memories began to "clash," their Status Windows suddenly appeared and played the same memories for them.
Hence, it looked like they were watching a movie now.
"I’m actually pissed," Yejun said, and then he turned to Wonhee with a frown. "The previous me promised to love you longer. But we didn’t meet until we met in the basement. We’re supposed to meet earlier than that."
"Oh, right. That was old Wonhee and old Yejun’s plan," Wonhee said, knitting her eyebrows. "What happened?"
As if on cue, a loud explosion was heard from their Status Windows.
When Wonhee and Yejun turned to their Status Windows to check what was happening, they were both surprised when they saw their mini versions.
Little Wonhee and Little Yejun were holding hands while running.
The background didn’t look good because it was just all thick smoke around the two kids.
But running away from who— or what?
