Chapter 243: The defeat
Chapter 243: The defeat
"Now we are talking," cackled the demon, looking at Kadyn. He vanished. Kadyn’s eyes widened and he teleported. As soon as he escaped a punch appeared, creating a crack in the space. Kadyn had avoided a terrible blow.
He punched and his hand transformed into a ball of fire. Sephiran snorted and swatted the attack as if he were slapping a fly. "What is this, Harrod?" he said. "Are you playing some kind of game?" He pointed towards others fighting all around them and continued, "If you don’t fight seriously I think you will be the only one standing alive. On the corpses of your fellow humans."
Kadyn looked at his companions and realized that they weren’t doing well. He had helped them, but his attack was just for a brief period of time. In the end, they needed to depend on themselves. However, the rank six demons were greater in numbers than humans.
He took a deep breath and peered at his grinning enemy and released the power of the World Lotus. His spells became stronger and faster. However, no matter how many times, how many ways he tried to corner the demon. He just avoided his attacks.
The most troubling thing was that Sephiran did not seem tired at all. On the other hand, Kadyn was already breathing raggedly. His chest fell and rose incoherently. Sweat gathered across his temples. Although he could use World Lotus to gather energy from his surroundings, he was spending energy way faster than he was gathering it.
He wanted to defeat his enemy anyhow. He used water element. Space element. He summoned other creatures, but they were slaughtered in no time. He used fire element, but to no avail. He used whatever he could but in the end, he found only one thing. Defeat.
"What? Are you already done?" Sephiran chuckled. "Do you think I was slumbering inside the earth for thousands of years?" He paused. "I cultivated and cultivated and cultivated until I touched the barrier."
"Barrier?" Kadyn looked startled. He stared at the demon in front of him. What was he talking about?
"Hehe," chuckled Sephiran as if enjoying his bemused expression. "Do you think that the Assimilation Stage is the end of the cultivation? How pitiful you lowborn are. There is a heaven beyond heaven, the world beyond this world, where dragons and demons roam. Those are the existences that do not even consider worms to the people like you."
As soon as he said a horrifying aura released off his demonic body overwhelming everything. Kadyn’s face paled in the face of such strength. He knew there was another world out there. More powerful. More majestic. And he knew there were more powerful ranks beyond the Assimilation Rank. His father and mother had reached that level.
However, he never thought that the creature in front of him had touched the boundary. ’What should I do?’ For the first time after reincarnating in this world, he felt so helpless.
"Father! No!" A scream jolted him. He looked towards the crying boy and his eyes widened and his body trembled, and tears threatened to flow from his dilated eyes.
In front of Dion stood Hot Rod. A vicious claw was tearing through his chest. It was meant for Dion, but how could a father let his son die in front of his eyes? The man did not have enough to cast a spell. Therefore, he became a shield himself. "No!No!No!" Dion cried as he held his father’s twitching body which gradually became still and then cold.
The glassy eyes still looked back at his son as if trying to speak something. That he could never speak before. He wanted to say that he was proud of his son. He wanted to say that all the cursing and beating he had given him was his way of showing love. He could never say those things. He was dead.

’I am thy Lord. Hearken to my bidding.’
Cecelia looked at Hot Rod’s corpse and a voice shushed in her head. "Get out of my head," she said.
’Kill all of them,’ it continued. ’Kill whoever opposes your Lord.’
"No, no, no," Cecelia covered her head and muttered in a helpless voice.
"What are you doing, Cecelia?" asked someone, sounding angry. Cecelia lifted her head and spotted Nefia. A demon was just about to attack Cecelia when Nefia arrived at the right moment. Saved her. However, anger was evident across her face. This was war. What was she doing, covering her head and crying?!
Cecelia looked at Nefia feeling ashamed. But then she heard, ’Kill her. Kill her. She is your enemy.’
"No! No!" She covered her head and looked away and screamed. "She is my friend."
’You know you want to do it,’ the voice continued to entice her. ’You are a vampire. Look around you. Look at the blood around you. The warm, silky, soothing blood.’
Cecelia eyed the gory sight in front of her and his mouth was filled with water. Her vampire instincts were kicking in. ’Yes, blood. You want it, right?’
"Snap out of it!" a shout jolted her awake. She looked at Nefia and a horrified look appeared on her face. ’I was thinking about drinking my friend’s blood.’ She stumbled back, her eyes filled with tears and horror. She was afraid. Not of dying. She was afraid of killing her friends. ’No, no. I have to get away from them.’ She thought as she looked at Nefia. The time she spent with her friend. The time when she used to call her princess. The time when they used to joke and laugh around.
"Brother!" A horrified scream resounded. She lifted her head and looked towards the sky and her body started to tremble. Sephiran was punching Kadyn and laughing. Blood spluttered around, falling on the ground like a drizzle before the rain.
"Chi!" a screech echoed and a bird burning with fire launched towards the demon. Cecelia who could not think straight just until now climbed over the sky and teleported. All other Kadyn’s companions rushed to save him. Kadyn never thought that even World Lotus would fail to defeat Sephiran. Now he knew why in the last life he chose to sacrifice himself. He had no way to defeat this creature.
At this moment Sephiran lifted his spear and pierced towards Kadyn’s heart.
"Puchi!"
"No!" Everyone screamed.
