Chapter 527 Shipwreck

Chapter 527 Shipwreck

"Youyou..."

"Pomelo!"

Amidst the constant calls of his consciousness, Lu Keming suddenly opened his eyes.

Before him lay endless darkness, so intense that Lu Keming even mistook it for blindness. But soon his eyes gradually adjusted to the darkness, and the blackness before him slowly turned into a deep blue.

Lu Keming subconsciously braced his hands on the ground, preparing to get up, but the strange sensation in his hands made him stop.

He opened his hand and slowly waved it, watching the seawater flowing between his fingers, his expression slightly stunned.

Is he still in the sea?

Lu Keming touched the area under his nose, feeling the cool seawater beneath his fingertips, a hint of disbelief in his eyes.

He is breathing...

How could he possibly breathe in seawater?

A strange feeling kept spreading through Lu Keming's heart. He looked up and realized that he was in a shipwreck.

The shipwreck has been here for an unknown period of time. Its hull is already dilapidated, and a few dim rays of light shine through the holes in the hull, illuminating the rusty iron sheet and revealing the dense barnacles covering it.

Several jellyfish swam slowly past the boat, their transparent bodies emitting glimmers of light, like floating ghosts in the dark ocean.

Lu Keming's gaze froze.

He looked again at the floating jellyfish and the barnacles attached to the hull.

Didn't Youyou say there's no life in this sea area?

Where is this?

Lu Keming swam toward the hole in the hull, wanting to go outside and see what was going on, but when he reached the entrance, he found that there seemed to be an invisible barrier that prevented him from passing through.

Lu Keming attached his mental energy to the barrier, but the barrier remained unresponsive.

He turned and swam toward other cave entrances, only to find that each one was blocked by the barrier.

Lu Keming finally realized—

He was trapped in the sunken ship.

Just then, a muffled sound came from outside the ship.

The sound waves, carrying the undulating seawater, pushed the floating jellyfish toward Lu Keming. Lu Keming looked at the faint fluorescence emitted by the jellyfish and discovered that a dark shadow had appeared on the hull at some point.

The shape of the dark shadow was unclear and did not resemble any marine creature that Lu Keming knew.

But the "owner" of the shadow seemed to be enormous, filling the entire hull in front of Lu Keming.

Dozens of brachiopod shadows extended from its body, constantly floating in the seawater.

At first glance, the dark shape looked like a giant octopus, but an octopus only has eight tentacles, and Lu Keming had never seen such a large octopus before.

It was behind him, watching him from the darkness.

A deathly silence spread through the sunken ship. Lu Keming's eyes gradually turned cold. He used his mental energy to condense a knife in his hand, and when the shadowy figure was watching him, he suddenly turned around and flung the mental energy out.

But the shadowy figure reacted even faster; before Lu Keming could even turn around, it had already vanished without a trace.

Lu Keming stared at the seawater churned up by the departure of the dark figure, his eyes growing increasingly somber.

He walked toward the hole in the ship where the monster had left, and reached his hand toward the entrance, but was still blocked inside the ship by that invisible barrier.

The entrance to the cave was cluttered with glass bottles of different colors. The light from the jellyfish refracted into a kaleidoscope of colors, reflecting off the hull like a kaleidoscopic display.

Lu Keming kicked away the glass bottle blocking his feet. He leaned against the wall behind him, looking at the sunken ship that had trapped him, his expression somewhat irritable.

What exactly is this barrier?

Is it related to the dark figure that just ran away?

The kicked-open glass bottle rolled a few times on the ground, and a moment later, a dazed clownfish emerged from it.

It swam unsteadily to Lu Keming and stared at him with its tiny black bean-sized eyes.

Lu Keming looked up and met the gaze of the clownfish.

He looked at the clownfish that had come close to him and was tilting its head to observe him, frowned slightly, and casually waved it aside.

Just then, a dark shadow loomed over from above.

A metallic smell entered Lu Keming's nostrils along with the seawater. Lu Keming opened his eyes and saw blood permeating the water.

Before Lu Keming could figure out where the blood came from, a shark was thrown into the cabin.

Looking at the sharp bite marks on the shark's back and the blood gushing from them, Lu Keming finally understood the source of the rusty smell.

The dark figure remained above the cabin.

Lu Keming looked up at the direction of the dark shadow above him, but he still couldn't see the shadow's true face through the ship's deck.

The dark figure lingered above for a short while before disappearing again.

But soon, the shadowy figure returned.

This time, a bluefin tuna was thrown into the cabin.

Next came sailfish, eels, ribbonfish, manta rays, and many other fish that Lu Keming couldn't name.

The hold was soon filled with the carcasses of various fish.

Lu Keming stared at the pile of corpses in front of him, remaining motionless for a long time. He realized—

The dark figure seemed to have used this place as a granary.

And it clearly regarded him as a reserve food.
