Chapter 689: I’m Letting You Off The Hook This Time
Chapter 689: I’m Letting You Off The Hook This Time
After escaping from the old library, Alex headed straight to the farm.
Right now, he didn’t feel like he could safely guard against Lulu’s advances. With that said, the only one among his lovers who was strong enough to handle her was Fran.
Coincidentally, along the way, he saw a little white bun move so fast, it looked like it was running away from someone. Alex almost did a double-take due to how fast this little creature was moving.
Of course, this little bun was none other than Dim Dim.
After giving the boys some advice, the girls who happened to pass by suddenly got curious and wondered why a small crowd of people were gathering. There, they saw dim Dim, so they paused and listened to what it had to say.
Thinking they had found some kind of love expert, the girls thought they could also ask Dim Dim for advice.
However, after seeing how many ladies were lining up to have a one-on-one coaching session with it, Dim Dim had also chosen to take a strategic retreat!
"Dim Dim!" Alex shouted.
"Dim!" Dim Dim called out to Alex, but it didn’t pause and headed straight to the farm with determination.
Alex followed closely behind while looking in the direction where Dim Dim came from.
Daisy and Rex had been freed from the encirclement and also decided to run away from the crowd.
There was only one haven for them. The farm. Their little sanctuary. No one could get them there.
"What happened to all of you?" Fran blinked after Alex arrived at the farm with Daisy and Rex. "Did something happen in the academy?"
She was currently patting Dim Dim’s head lightly. The little bun had crawled itself inside her pocket as if seeking shelter there.
"Uh... I don’t know what’s the deal with Dim Dim, Daisy, and Rex," Alex said. "As for me, I came here because I was running away from Lulu."
"Oh?" Fran arched an eyebrow. She didn’t miss the kiss marks on Alex’s neck. Though, she also understood that her sisters might not have been able to resist Alex’s charms since he looked like a dashing prince right now. "Did she do something to you?"
"Yes." Alex coughed lightly. "Can I hide here for now? Just until things settle down."
"Fine by me," Fran replied. "I was just about to cook lunch. I’ll need a helper."
The dwarf then entered the house, prompting Alex to hurry behind her before closing the door firmly behind them.
Thinking that it was now safe, Dim Dim crawled out from Fran’s pocket and jumped on top of the table. It then heaved a sigh of relief and wiped the imaginary beads of sweat on its forehead.
"What happened to you, Dim Dim?" Alex asked.
"Dim."
"You made a mistake?"
The little bun nodded. It then explained to Alex that during its patrol, it saw four guys surrounding Vaan. Thinking the pretty man was being bullied, Dim Dim came to the rescue.
Fortunately, Vaan wasn’t being bullied. Instead, the men were only asking him for advice on how to make girls like them.
Dim Dim then explained that it gave out some pointers on how to appeal to the ladies. However, since they were in the middle of the road, more people overheard its little speech.
Before the little bun became aware of it, a crowd had already gathered around them, taking its teachings to heart.
"You’ve had it rough, Dim Dim." Alex lightly patted the little bun’s head to sympathize with its troubles.
After that, Dim Dim then asked why he was running way earlier. However, unlike the little bun, Alex couldn’t possibly explain that he ran away because he didn’t want Little Alex to fall into a coma for several days.
In the end, Alex only said that he missed Fran very much and couldn’t wait to see her.
This made the dwarf blush. She was busy cooking something good for Alex and Dim Dim at the moment, so when she heard his words, she decided to put a special ingredient in her dish to make it taste better.
A moment later, Fran’s humming could be heard from the kitchen. Clearly, she was in a good mood as she cooked stew for lunch.
Half an hour later, the aroma of herbs and well-cooked meat slowly filled the room, causing Alex and Dim Dim to perk up.
The two were quietly enjoying the peace and quiet of Fran’s home, which made them momentarily forget their troubles.
However, this peace and quiet was suddenly broken when a familiar voice whispered in Alex’s ear.
"You can run, but you can’t hide."
Alex almost jolted in fright. He hurriedly backed away as he looked at Lulu, who was laughing while holding her stomach.
"You almost gave me a heart attack, Lulu," Alex said while patting his chest. "Don’t do that."
"Alright." Lulu raised her hand to make a promise. "I won’t surprise you like that again. Still, something smells good here."
Lotte then materialized right beside Lulu and gave Alex an apologetic smile.
She followed Lulu because she feared she would do something bad to Alex, which she didn’t want to happen.
What she didn’t know was that Lulu only had one plan.
A plan that Lotte and Fran would’ve supported no matter what.
However, since Fran was now done cooking, she invited the two of them to join them for lunch.
Lotte and Lulu had no reason to reject her offer, so they accepted Fran’s invitation.
The five ate in silence. Yet, Alex instinctively felt like something would happen after they finished eating.
’They won’t do anything while Fran is here, right?’ Alex thought.
For him, Fran was the voice of reason. She would also always be on Alex’s side.
When they finished eating, Lotte volunteered to help Fran clean up the table and do the dishes together.
Since this was her specialty, Fran accepted her help happily. Meanwhile, Alex and Lulu were left in the living room, facing each other as they sat on the couch.
Dim Dim had sensed that the coast was already clear, so it left through the window to play with Rex and Daisy.
"Lulu, I don’t know what you’re thinking, but can we do it another time?" Alex asked.
"I’ll think about it if you said pretty please," Lulu replied.
"Pretty please?"
"Fine. I’m letting you off the hook this time."
Alex sighed in relief because he thought he was now safe from whatever Lulu had planned for him.
However, that was a mistake.
After noticing that he had lowered his guard, Lulu blinked right by his side and whispered something in his ear.
"You know, Alters can get pregnant too," Lulu whispered. "But that won’t happen unless Latifa gives birth first. So, do your best, okay?"
She then let out a mischievous giggle before turning into particles of light.
Alex didn’t know whether he should be happy with the information he got or not. But since Lulu was mischievous by nature, he wouldn’t put it past her to set a trap for him.
A trap that he wouldn’t be able to escape no matter how hard he tried.
